In this occasion we need to investigate our object in more detail and research: the maker, other contexts in which this maker has worked, similar work made by other people.

EMMA DIBBEN
Emma is an amazing local illustrator. I discovered her when I was buying this tomato sauce can.
I saw this can and also other products, in this supermarket, with the same illustration style. So I typed on Google "Waitrose illustrations" and I discovered her work.
She studied Illustration at Falmouth College of Arts. This included a term studying etching and stone lithography at The Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Whilst working on both reportage and editorial projects she discovered her love of still life and food illustration.
On graduating in 2004, with a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Illustration, Emma upped sticks and moved to Bristol. Commissions soon followed and saw her creating images for prestigious clients including Waitrose, The Guardian and the BBC.

I really like this illustrator by several reasons.
The biggest reason is her spontaneous, delicate and fresh lines. She represents the food in a realistic way, but at the same time with a fun and attractive touch.
Also I like that most of her illustrations are for an adult public, but have a children´s touch.Even I contacted her by email and she was really nice!
